Summary
Naricio Tornelio Exer's body has been lying inert for days. For days he has been wandering, trapped and disoriented, somewhere in his memory. His consciousness has been fragmenting and time moves forward unstoppably; soon nothing and no one will be able to bring him back. You, the mind-awakeners , have been chosen to embark on their quest. In little more than an hour, the risk of losing your sanity far exceeds what a normal human mind can endure without succumbing to delirium.

Our search for English escape rooms in Madrid brought us first to D3SC1FRA (or Descifra). This location is just a bit north of Madrid in San Sebastian de los Reyes. This location can be reached by public transportation if needed. You must show up on time – not a minute early and not a minute late. A lot of preparation goes into your arrival to make the experience complete.

The hosts here were excellent and passionate about their roles. We like it when rooms don’t realize we’re coming to write a review because it gives us a really honest view of what other visitors will experience.

The theme of this room is somewhat abstract as you journey through the mind of a genius. Their love of art as well as memories from the real world are present throughout. Make sure your team is ready to exercise their communication skills. We do most of our rooms as a duo and have a 72% escape rate however, this room is much better suited with at least three players. The space is fairly large but with more than four people you’re going to be bumping into each other.

The puzzles are well thought out and will require a wide range of skills. There are no traditional locks in this space which seems appropriate for the setting. This room is on the hard end of the spectrum but several good brains will be able to get through everything in the allotted time.

Like all of Desc1fra’s rooms, a lot of thought has gone into immersion including a variety of ambient lighting from space to space, ambient sounds, and other interesting effects. This room isn’t ideal for individuals with mobility issues though I think they could find a way to accommodate you if needed.

Definitely go check out El Laberinto and while you’re at it book La Tormenta as well!
