Our search for English escape rooms in Madrid brought us first to D3SC1FRA (or Descifra). This location is just a bit north of Madrid in San Sebastian de los Reyes. This location can be reached by public transportation if needed. You must show up on time – not a minute early and not a minute late. A lot of preparation goes into your arrival to make the experience complete.
The hosts here were excellent and passionate about their roles. We like it when rooms don’t realize we’re coming to write a review because it gives us a really honest view of what other visitors will experience.
It’s rare for rooms to receive a 10 in a given category. This is one of those rare rooms that goes above and beyond in emersion and, as of our 120th room, includes elements we haven’t seen before. Incredible thought has gone into not only the ambient lighting and audio, but what you see through the windows, what you experience as you escape – it’s a treat from the time you arrive at the venue until the moment you find yourself safe in the foyer and out of the storm.
The puzzles are a combination of practical puzzles, traditional locks, and the right splashes of technology. We found this room to be a medium-difficulty and solvable as a duo. However, there is plenty to work on and enough room for four players to be comfortable. Any more than that and you may need to sacrifice a teammate to the storm.
