We love Escape Manor. They’re one of our favorite locations in an city that they’re in. They somehow manage to hire the best service staff and best escape room hosts. Our host had great energy and made it fun from start to finish.
You find your party locked in two different cells in a concrete prison with the typical sort of writing on the walls you’d expect to find. Your mission is to escape the cells, delete the surveillance footage, and escape. This information is written on a note for you to find, however, we completed everything before finding it and were unsure of what to do next. We think this note should be put somewhere more obvious while some other text based hints could be hidden better or removed altogether. Usually if you NEED a written hint in a room, the puzzle can be presented better.
Everything is in exactly the right spot and some searching and experimenting will get you through. We completed this room just as a pair and really only found two of the puzzles to be a medium difficulty or higher. The room is big though and we think six or, dare I say, 8 may actually fit in this room though you may be lacking enough tasks for everyone to keep busy.
There is good ambient audio here, which we always appreciate. The lighting doesn’t have much variation but you are in a prison after all. (They did get some bonus immersion points fairly easily due to the fact that a concrete room is perfect for a prison.)
We enjoyed this room and think it’s one worth booking, especially for a larger group.
