Summary
"You and your highly-trained S.W.A.T. team have never met a mission like this before. Those sci-fi zombie movies have come to life, and you’re in the thick of it. Can you create the antidote, save the planet and stay alive all while being attacked by an A.I. super-computer? This isn’t your average zombie apocalypse escape room. This is PROTOCOL."

We had heard so many good things about Ichabod’s, particularly by other escape room owners, that we just had to make the trip to London, Ontario. Walking into the facilities you’re greeted with a visual experience that we’ve only seen a handful of times in Ontario. There is such great passion and care put into the facilities which is run by a passionate owner who clearly loves what he does.

I always have a harder time loving rooms of this genre – the science laboratory gone awry. But they did an incredible job here and the experience starts before you enter the room. You will be BLOWN AWAY by the entrance to this room. We have only encountered a similar experience once before – and this was better. The overall build is good and the props are well made. There are plenty of audio and lighting treats throughout as well as some additional effects which I won’t share here because I don’t want to ruin the surprise!

Once you get into this room you are presented with a variety of scientific puzzles that should be possible even by folks that don’t love science. It’s not scary but has some zombie elements to it. Once again, there are no physical locks in this room that helps with immersion. There are a few tracks that you can take in a relatively non-linear way. Only once was there something that a single person had to do while the others waited.

There was some noise from the hallways which we don’t love but we understand the requirements of the bylaw for HVAC, sprinklers, etc. Escape room builders have a ton of hoops to jump through and we can’t fault Ichabod’s here.

We completed this room and found it a medium-difficult. 4 people could definitely complete this room in time and there’s room for 6 or even 8 people, though you may find that some individuals may not be able to contribute at that point.
